You can now review even more of Apple’s own apps

Apple has added more of its own built-in apps to the App Store, letting users of devices like the iPhone 13 and its other best iPhones give the apps ratings and leave reviews.

Kosta Eleftheriou noted on Twitter:

Apple just added more of their built-in apps on the App Store, which you can now rate & review

The list includes mainstay iPhone apps such as Messages, Phone, Camera, Clock, Photos, Workout, and more.

It means users can now leave star ratings and reviews on even more of the apps that Apple ships with its mobile operating system, iOS 15, a small bone of contention in the wider-ranging antitrust storm that currently engulfs the company. Apple has been criticized because its own apps are not given the same level of scrutiny as third-party apps. A more pressing concern has been raised by some that it is anti-competitive for Apple to ship built-in apps like Music on the iPhone when the company runs a streaming platform.

Some of Apple’s own apps are notoriously bad, and last month users buried the Podcasts app when the company first made its own apps available to be reviewed. From September:

It means customers can now leave reviews for apps that come pre-installed on your iPhone, such as the Stocks app, Weather, Podcasts, Voice Memos, and more.

As you might expect, Apple’s notorious Podcasts app is getting buried by users, with 156 ratings in just over a week and an overall score of just 2 out of 5.
