Roku TV Ready program gets more audio partners

TL;DR

  • Roku announced more third-party partners for its Roku TV-Ready audio program.
  • The companies include Element, JVC, Pheanoo, Philips, Polk Audio, and Westinghouse.
  • They will create new speakers and other audio devices that should connect seamlessly to Roku devices and smart TVs

Companies that sign up for the Roku TV-Ready program can get access to a set of software tools that will allow those partners to integrate new features in their audio products, like soundbars and speakers. Those features will allow these audio devices to connect seamlessly to Roku streaming sticks, boxes, and smart TVs. This should allow Roku owners to buy audio devices that will set up quickly and work with their Roku remote so they don’t need to mess with multiple remotes for sound and audio settings. Roku also has a wireless soundbar reference design that will help audio companies make their own wireless speakers for Roku products.

Other Roku TV-Ready partners include Bose, Hisense, TCL North America, Sound United, and Definitive Technology. The program has also expanded beyond the US in 2021 to include the United Kingdom, Canada, and Mexico.
