WWDC 2023, M2 Macs, Mac Studio, Meta Quest 3

Render of Apple’s upcoming headset

Apple continues to hype WWDC, new M2 Macs could launch soon, while a Meta Quest 3 announcement tries to overshadow Apple, and your hosts examine anticipated iOS 17 features, all on this week’s episode of the AppleInsider podcast.

After all this time and all this speculation, it’s peculiar to be able to say that WWDC is just next Monday. On practically the eve of Apple’s announcement of a headset, its time to see which rumors are worth putting any stock in.

Whatever gets announced, though, Apple is clearly hyping this event more than usual. The company has sent developers an email on the theme of “Code new worlds,” and it seems unlikely that we’re looking at just a point update to SwiftUI.

Then behind the scenes, Apple is most definitely testing M2 Macs and that could include an updated Mac Studio. Despite the hype, though, there are some questions over whether Apple will unveil any new Macs at WWDC — unless they fit Apple’s aims for the conference.

If it’s still not absolutely certain that Apple will release an AR headset, at least now you can be sure that Meta will — eventually. With at least four months to go before Meta even promises actual details of its next headset, the firm has chosen now to announce it.

Right before WWDC. Like Meta Quest 3 is really going to steal Apple’s thunder.
