Twitter’s timeline no longer moves around when you’re trying to read tweets on your iPhone

If you’ve ever used the official Twitter app and found that it seems to scroll through the timeline while you’re trying to read a tweet, you aren’t alone. But thankfully it shouldn’t be happening anymore, with Twitter saying it’s now fixed the problem.

According to a couple of tweets, the Twitter Support team says that an update for the “disappearing tweet experience” is now fixed in the latest iOS update.

The problem itself was an irritating one, with people watching their timeline refresh and then move while they were still trying to read a tweet. Now, Twitter says that your timeline will stay where you left it — no more chasing tweets around!

While I would still argue that the official Twitter app is far from the best iPhone app for reading tweets, bug fixes like this are most welcome. There’s no doubt that the Twitter app is the place to go for features like Spaces and polls, so it needs to work the way people would expect it to. Moving tweets while you’re reading them is very much not expected behavior.

Twitter is available for download from the App Store now and is a free download at that. It’s received multiple updates this month alone, although the release notes leave a little to be desired.

We made improvements and squashed bugs so Twitter is even better for you.

Good to know, Twitter. Now make my timeline sync between devices and we can talk!
