In a recent Tweet, 343 Industries Community Manager John “Unyshek” Junyszek has confirmed that Halo Infinite’s developers are planning on implementing some changes to the Halo Infinite Battle Pass to address the playerbase’s complaints about slow Battle Pass progression. Players should expect to see these changes later this week, according to the announcement.
In terms of what’s changing, Junyszek explained that players will now always have “Play 1 Game” daily challenges available so that all players will have a consistent way to progress. Additionally, the developers are also planning to adjust, fix, and remove some weekly challenges based on feedback from players. This likely means that difficult and unpopular challenges like “Kill a player with a Stalker Rifle after they use a Man-Cannon” will be reworked or removed.
The length of XP Boosts is also being increased to one hour (was 30 minutes previously). This change is intended to improve how useful and valuable XP Boosts are, especially for fans of Big Team Battle matches that can often take a long time to complete.
Junyszek then announced that when these changes are made, the developers will have to reset challenges and weekly challenge progress for all players. To make up for this inconvenience, the Sigil Mark VII Visor Ultimate Reward will be given to every player that logs in from Nov. 23 to Nov. 30.
Overall, it’s great to see the developers address fan concerns about Halo Infinite’s Battle Pass so quickly, although it’s unclear whether or not these changes will be enough to make the Battle Pass truly feel rewarding. The developers have stated that they’re committed to evolving systems like this over time, though, so we expect more changes will come if they’re necessary.
