  • Telegram admins are set to get more control over the content they publish.
  • There are new limitations on how viewers save or forward group content.
  • Some of the new features include the ability to share feedback and ask questions on the platform.

This week, the privacy-focused Telegram app has made big updates on most of its major supported platforms, adding new security settings and features to give administrators more control over how their content is consumed.

Creators can now more easily control how viewers save or forward their group content. Additionally, bulk-delete options have been added for one-on-one chats. Some additional features have also been added to the system.

“With this update, we’re helping creators protect the content they publish on Telegram and ensure that it is available only for their intended audience,” according to an official Telegram blog post. “Group and Channel owners who want to keep their content members-only can restrict message forwarding from their chat, which also prevents screenshots and limits the ability to save media from posts.”

New features

Here’s what’s new in the latest version of Telegram for Windows::

  • Content creators can choose whether or not their groups and channels have the ability to save media, forward messages to other users, and forward messages to external contacts.
  • You can easily find specific messages by date in your one-on-one chats.
  • Share your feedback and ask questions in groups and channel comments so that your voice can be heard.
  • When someone in a community you have joined attempts to communicate with you through the chat system, their name will appear at the top of the chat window.
  • Admins can now require users to complete certain tasks before they are allowed to join their affiliated communities.

Telegram began as a privacy-focused messaging service but has since evolved into a powerful communications platform with support for voice and video calls, groups, public feeds, and live streaming.
