- Microsoft’s SwiftKey now supports copy and paste between Android and Windows.
- The SwiftKey has been updated recently that incorporates the copy and paste feature.
- The feature will only be available to Windows 10 and upper.
Microsoft keeps on adding new features, and Swiftkey keyboard users are the latest to get served.
The SwiftKey app has been updated to version 7.9.0.5 with copy and paste as the primary new feature. This is possible between your Android smartphone and a Windows PC.
The feature works both ways, so you can if you want to copy from PC to Android and vice versa.
Available for Windows 10 and Windows 11
The catch, however, is that you need to be on Windows 10 or Windows 11 to use this feature. In addition, you will also need the latest Swiftkey version installed on your Android device.
You may recall Microsoft had removed some features from Windows 10, including support for SwiftKey hence why you will need Windows 10 update from 2018 or later.
Another important note is that the feature is not automatically enabled. You will have to navigate to your Swiftkey Keyboard Settings on your Android. Tap Rich input>Clipboard>Sync Clipboard history and then toggle the turn feature on.
For your PC, navigate to the Settings app, then System>Clipboard>Clipboard history. Next, toggle on “Sync across your devices.”
When you have set both your devices, you will be able to copy and paste text from your Android phone to your Windows PC. Microsoft says that the devices should be able to sync immediately from their support page.
