Siemens and Microsoft partner to bring GenAI to industries worldwide

Siemens and Microsoft are partnering to bring the benefits of generative AI to industries worldwide, starting with the launch of Siemens Industrial Copilot, an AI-powered assistant for engineers.

Siemens Industrial Copilot can help engineers with various tasks, including generating code, creating simulations, troubleshooting, and accessing knowledge and expertise. Microsoft Azure and the Azure OpenAI Service power it.

Microsoft and Siemens envision AI copilots assisting professionals across various industries, including manufacturing, infrastructure, transportation, and healthcare. Several AI copilots are already planned for the manufacturing sector, covering areas such as automotive, consumer package goods, and machine building.

Integrating Siemens Teamcenter software for product lifecycle management with Microsoft Teams will enable virtual collaboration across teams involved in product design and manufacturing. This aims to make data more accessible to factory and field service workers, allowing them to contribute to the design and manufacturing process more easily.

This partnership signifies a significant advancement in the application of AI in industrial settings, intending to improve efficiency, productivity, and innovation. The companies plan to unveil more details about Siemens Industrial Copilot at the SPS expo in Nuremberg, Germany, in November 2023.

Generative AI has the potential to transform industries by accelerating innovation, improving productivity, enhancing quality, and reducing costs. Siemens Industrial Copilot is a powerful tool that can help engineers realize the full potential of generative AI in manufacturing.
