Pokémon fans have been waiting for an open-world game for a long time, in the same vein as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Finally, The Pokémon Company announced their newest game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus. This game takes place in ancient Sinnoh, a region which used to be called Hisui. This region is home to regional variants of Pokémon we all know and love, like Hisuian Voltorb and Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark.

Playing Legends: Arceus also gives players access to special content if they have save data from Pokémon Sword and Shield or from Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee, like access to Shaymin alongside special outfits.

If you happened to purchase Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you’re in luck. Exclusive content is coming to players with save data from these games.

Anyone who plays Legends: Arceus with save data from the generation four remakes can catch the legendary Pokémon Darkrai and add it to their team. Another perk is being able to obtain a special Team Galactic themed outfit, allowing you to look like the enemy team in Sinnoh, but with a Hisuian twist. This announcement comes alongside a showcase of the new clans found in Legends: Arceus — Diamond, Pearl, and Ginkgo clans.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus releases on Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.
