Minecraft video game gets Disney content and Caves and Cliffs Part 2 DLC this month

Mojang confirmed today that Minecraft’s Caves & Cliffs Update: Part II will roll out to players on Microsoft’s Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles, Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs, and all other supported platforms in just over a week on November 30th.

This content update will add candles to the popular video game and a variety of visual and practical enhancements for terrain.

“Part II gives the mountains and caves that you know and love a makeover,” Mojang’s Sofia Dankis explains in a new blog post. “Updated terrain generation, higher peaks, more elaborate cave systems – even the ore veins are larger! They are all so gorgeous so I might have to accept one of the makeovers that my team offers me on the daily. If they can make me look like a lush cave, who am I to say no?”

Unfortunately, some promised features such as archaeology, bundles, and goat horns have been delayed until an unspecified future update.

In other Minecraft news, a special batch of Minecraft downloadable content (DLC) celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World is now live for all players via the in-game marketplace.

Named, the Minecraft x Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Adventure DLC, this bundle of new content adds a variety of Disney and Pixar attractions and 29 popular characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. A number of Disney-themed character creator items such as Mickey Mouse ears are also included.
