iOS/iPadOS 15.4 Arrives With Face ID With a Mask, Universal Control and More

You can download the update by heading to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone or iPad.

A major feature of the update is the ability to use Face ID with a mask.

After downloading the update, head to Settings > Face ID & Passcode and then Toggle on Use Face ID With a Mask. If you wear glasses and a mask, there is also an option to make it more accurate. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with sunglasses.

First announced last summer, the Universal Control feature has made its way to the iPad. Using macOS Monterey 12.3 and iPadOS 15.4, you can use a single keyboard and mouse/trackpad to work between both devices signed into a single iCloud account.

The update also offers 37 new emoji first previewed last year. Some of those include bubbles, crutches, X-ray, and more.

Users of iCloud Keychain can now now add notes to any password entry and hide password alerts.

Other new features include an additional voice for Siri, an Apple Card home screen widget, and a new message when setting up an AirTag warning that the device is locked to an Apple ID and using it to track the location of someone without their consent is a crime.
