According to research, the is a likelihood that there will be an increase in ransomware attacks over the holidays on e-commerce platforms.
Based on the State of Encrypted Attacks Report released by Zscaler, there has been an increase in the number of HTTPS threats since January. Retailers and tech companies have been adversely affected by this breach of security.

HTTPS threats
The report highlights that the HTTPS threats have increased by more than 314%, whereas, the attacks on tech companies increased by 2,300%. Retail companies on the other hand saw an 800% increase.
Most of the attacks were from the tech industry, according to the report 50% is accredited to them. Malware went up 212%, whereas, phishing increased by 90%.
The report also highlights over 20 billion threats that were detected and blocked over HTTPS. During the period of January and September, over 190 billion transitions are made on a daily basis via the Zero Trust Exchange.
