How to turn on Bluetooth in Windows 10 or Windows 11

While the good ol’ wired connections can help you transfer your files as well connect your speakers, if you’re looking to get mobility, going the wired way may not be the best choice.

Thankfully, almost all Windows computers support the Bluetooth technology. In this article, we’ll go over how you can easily turn on the Bluetooth settings in your PC.

Let’s get started.

1. How to turn on Bluetooth in Windows 10

The easiest way to turn on Bluetooth in Windows 10 is through the Windows Action Center, a handy utility that lets you access and manage a host of Windows settings.

To access the Action Center, click on the message icon from the bottom-right corner in the system tray. Now, from the list of options, you can click on Bluetooth.

As soon as you do this, the Bluetooth icon will become dark or highlighted. This means that the Bluetooth is now active. Note that the Action Center is not available in Windows 11, so you can’t turn on the Bluetooth like this in Windows 11. For that, jump to the next method below.

2. Turn on Bluetooth from Settings

Although the above method works pretty well in most Windows computers, for one reason or the other it can fail to perform in some cases. And in the case of Windows 11, where there’s no Action Center, you cannot access the Bluetooth settings like this at all.

However, a solution exists. In such situations, you can simply use the Windows Settings app.

To get started, go to the Start menu search bar, type in ‘settings’, and select the Best match. Alternatively, press the Windows key + I. You’ll get taken to the Settings menu. From there, follow the steps below:

  1. Select Devices.
  2. In the Bluetooth & other devices section, toggle on the Bluetooth slider.
