Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Borderlands 3, and Dirt 5 are currently free to play on Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles until the end of Sunday at 11:59 p.m. PDT for all console owners with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.
The timing of this weekend’s Free Play Day promotion is particularly good for Halo: The Master Chief Collection as the title just launched its final major content update for the year which added a variety of new in-game content and features.
“To celebrate Season 8 and our final collection update for 2021, play Halo: The Master Chief Collection for free this weekend in Free Play Days,” Xbox’s Dean Shimabukuro wrote in a blog post. “Enjoy 100 tiers of new seasonal unlocks and content like new armors, a new matchmaking map, and campaign collectibles in Halo 3!”
All three video games have had their prices reduced to encourage players to purchase them after the weekend is over.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been given a 50% discount, Borderlands 3 a 67% discount, and Dirt 5 70% off.
In other Xbox news, a new Star Wars video game could be on the way, the next Just Dance title will support the Kinect, and the Xbox Series S and X consoles have already beaten the Xbox One’s sales numbers in Japan.
