You surely remember that one of the recent updates for PowerToys introduced a new set of cursor-related tools.
Now, PowerToys users can find the lost cursor by double-pressing the Ctrl button, and the software also lets you highlight right/left mouse clicks, which comes in handy when you record or share the screen.
The lead for Microsoft PowerToys, Clint Rutkas, revealed the fact that a new accessibility feature coming soon to Mouse utilities in PowerToys.
Improved PowerToys functions are on the way
Update 0.55, as PowerToys is still a public preview, should bring an improved Find My Mouse tool and will introduce an alternative way to track the lost cursor.
In the current public version of PowerToys, users can find the cursor by double-pressing the Ctrl button, at which point PowerToys dims the screen and highlights the cursor with a small circle.
But prepare to be surprised further, because version 0.55 will offer another option of a colorful crosshair with the cursor in the center.
According to Rutkas, PowerToys 0.55 will allow users to set a custom crosshair color for better accessibility. Although it is currently not confirmed, it’s safe to say there will also be an option to change the crosshair thickness.
The new tool is actually called Inclusive Mouse, and it will aim at users who have a hard time tracking the small cursor.
It goes without saying that you can also combine the new tool with other accessibility features in Windows 11.
