Dive Into the World of Safari Extensions in iOS 15 With Amplosion

Think of extensions as apps specifically for the web browser. You can add additional features and unlock specific features for your browsing experience.

If you’re looking to try out an extension, give Amplosion a try. From Christian Selig, the developer of the popular third-party Reddit client Apollo, the extension is designed to make AMP pages a thing of the past.

Anyone who does a lot of reading is probably aware of the Google-created web format designed to make pages load faster when searching sites on the search engine. But many times that’s not the case as you will see sites that look odd or load incorrectly. You can also be tracked via AMP links.

The new extension automatically redirects an AMP link to the normal site. There’s nothing else you need to do after turning on the extension.

Everything is done on the device and isn’t tracked. You can also see a breakdown of how may Amplosions have happened and shown by site.

Amplosion is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for $2.99.

Just to note, even after downloading the extension. It does take a bit of work.

On your iPhone or iPad, head to Settings > Safari > Extensions. You’ll then scroll down to Allow These Extensions and turn Amplosion on.
