The publisher of such popular games as Cyberpunk 2077 and the Witcher franchise, Poland-based CD Projekt has announced that it will now stop all sales of its products in Russia and Belarus in response to the Russia/Ukraine conflict. In its official statement the company added that “it stands firm with the people of Ukraine.”

The company’s most prominent developer, CD Projekt Red, has pledged to donate $240,000 toward Polska Akcja Humanitarna, a humanitarian group. CD Projekt is not the only name in the tech sphere to take action is response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with Microsoft announcing earlier this week that it will suspend all new sales of its products in Russia.
This will include all digital and physical sales of games. Also included in the company’s stance is the popular GOG (Good Old Games) digital distribution platform.
On March 2, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov called on video game developers and publishers to take a stance against Russia. It is beginning to look as though the call did not go unheard.
