Capture the Flag and Strongholds game modes are now available in Halo Infinite beta

Source: Xbox Game Studios

Halo Infinite is on day two of its second technical preview event, which is allowing players to enjoy the upcoming first-person shooter in all its chaotic and action-packed glory. Of course, 343 Industries is adding something to the mix on day two, with two brand-new game modes now available to play alongside Arena Slayer. Starting right now and (presumably) continuing into the second play session later today, at least, players can enjoy Capture the Flag and Strongholds in Halo Infinite.

Both of the new game modes are still under the Arena category, meaning they’re classic 4 versus 4 Halo action on the three maps that were already included in the technical preview. The Capture the Flag game mode is only playable on the Bazaar map, while Strongholds can be played both on Live Fire and Recharge. At the moment, classic Slayer and the two new game modes are lumped into the same playlist, so you can’t pick and choose which you’d like to play.

While the game modes are at least available for today, it’s not clear yet if they’ll stick around for the rest of the second technical preview. While it seems likely that 343i wouldn’t take away the game modes after only one day of testing, it’s best to get in and see what all the fuss is about today, just in case.

To ensure you don’t miss any of the action, keep track of the full Halo Infinite beta schedule. This time around, 343i is sticking to four-hour windows for online matchmaking, to, hopefully, force a greater number of players into the game at the same time. Despite the prevalent known issues in the Halo Infinite beta, the community reception has been almost overwhelmingly positive so far, highlighting how Halo Infinite definitely could be one of this year’s best Xbox games.

If you weren’t able to get into Halo Infinite’s technical preview this time, all hope isn’t lost. It’s been announced that additional players will be allowed to join the Halo Infinite technical preview during week two.
