Atomic Heart, the robot-killing FPS has finally been given a release window for late 2022

Atomic Heart, an upcoming science fiction-themed first-person shooter developed and published by indie dev Mundfish has finally been given a release window for late 2022 after many years in development. Not only that, Mundfish has unveiled a new trailer for Atomic Heart along with new details regarding the game’s story.

The story of Atomic Heart takes place in an alternative “what if” universe version of the 1950s, where the USSR developed highly advanced technology powered by a new resource known as “Polymer” to become the world’s leading global superpower. However, the top-secret research facility where the USSR developed “Polymer,” No. 3826, suddenly went dark after it received reports of the facility’s robot assistants suddenly malfunctioning and killing off the scientists.

In response to this disaster, the USSR sends in Sergey Nechaev, a cybernetically enhanced KGB agent to investigate No. 3826, destroy the rampant robots and discover the cause of this incident. However, Sergey’s mission will be not a cake walk as he will have to contend with not only the killer robots, but also psychotic mutants and the dark history of No. 3826’s experiments. To survive, he will need to grab whatever firearms he can find and upgrade his cybernetic implants to gain superhuman abilities.

Atomic Heart was originally revealed back in July 2017 and since then, the game has gotten more interesting and more crazy with every new trailer released. Atomic Heart is set to launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC in late 2022, and it will release day one on Xbox Game Pass. Mundfish says that it will reveal more details on when exactly the final release date will be at a later date. So, stay tuned as we keep on an eye out on this increasingly intriguing title, as it could be potentially become one of the best games on Xbox Game Pass.
