You might soon be able to start Skype calls directly from Microsoft Edge with new Meet Now tool

According to a post made on Reddit, it looks like it will be easier to make Skype calls through Microsoft Edge thanks to a new Meet Now tool. This new feature is courtesy of the latest Microsoft Edge Canary build but is limited to certain users through a controlled rollout.

The Redditor also goes ahead to highlight that the new feature is not enabled automatically. Instead, you have to navigate through the Appearance page to enable it. Alternatively, users can also access the Meet Now option by using the ellipsis menu.

Initially, Microsoft had tried to introduce a Meet Now button on the New Tab Page, however, later on, they disabled the function and removed it from the New Tab Page. As such, users showed their concerns about this new feature coming to Microsoft Edge, and many are torn between using Microsoft Teams and Skype.

We’re not sure when this feature will actually be available for GA use but seeing as though this is in testing in the Canary channel it could be quite a while for it to trickle down to the other Insider versions of the browser.
