Facebook is surprisingly good for arts and crafts. There are a ton of pages led by some very creative people. Or, at least, there are a bunch of pages with admins who are good at finding videos by very creative people. You can find all kinds of stuff on Facebook like DIY projects, life hacks, fun little decorative crafts, and more. The video tutorials are generally short and easy to digest. Facebook is also free. Their app could be a lot better, but it’s good enough to show you the occasional arts and crafts tutorial.
Sometimes it’s difficult to draw inspiration. Most craft apps help with that problem. Houzz isn’t a crafting app, really. However, it is a very good home improvement and home design app. It has a ton of furniture, appliance, and decoration ideas. All you gotta do is find something you like and then craft it yourself. It boasts 14 million photos, a shop with over nine million products and materials, and more. It has advertising, but it’s mostly for stuff on sale. It’s a good app for brainstorming.
Pinterest is easily among the best craft apps and crafting apps on mobile, or anywhere. The whole point of the app is to show you a bunch of cool stuff. A lot of stuff is doable by yourself. There are cooking recipes, fun little home improvement projects, decorations, and arts and crafts ideas for kids. You can pin the stuff that you like. That way it’s there for easy recall later. Otherwise, the only difficult part of this app is getting used to the UI if you haven’t seen it before. The app is also totally free like most social networks.

Reddit is a lot like Pinterest when it comes to craft apps. You can find all kinds of stuff there, both good and bad. There are several subreddits for arts and crafts, DIY projects, life hacks, and other stuff. It’s not difficult to find them, follow them, and have a virtually infinite number of ideas, tutorials, videos, and other content. The main Reddit app is pretty good, but there are plenty of third party Reddit apps that work as well. The site is mostly free. You can pay a monthly subscription to remove ads and gain some additional features. However, it’s not necessary for just browsing around.

Skillshare is an expensive, but effective app for learning new skills. The service has classes and guides on how to do a ton of stuff, including many arts and crafts. You can learn things like embroidery, how colors work, knitting, and even minor stuff like how to make a clay earring or arranging centerpieces. It’s a decent way to learn some skills directly without having to surf YouTube to find the good videos. It is rather expensive, but there is a long trial period and you can usually find some discount codes online if you look for them.
Tumblr is another one of the good crafts apps like Reddit or Pinterest. You can find virtually anything on Tumblr. Some of it is good and some of it is bad. However, there are some people who post the occasional craft, DIY project, life hack video, and stuff like that. It’s not quite as good as Reddit or Pinterest for this particular topic, but the ideas are there nevertheless. You may just need to search around the app for individuals who are into that sort of thing and reblog the good stuff so you can find it quickly later. The app is also totally free with no in-app purchases. There are ads, though.

Udemy is one of the more popular learning apps. It has classes for a ton of stuff. It ranges from computer programming to knitting, cooking, and even some design stuff. It’s a good place to learn new skills. The app and service lean a little bit more toward professional stuff. However, they do have a healthy selection of arts and crafts classes as well. It isn’t great for ideas, but you can’t do that awesome crochet thing you saw on Pinterest before you learn how to crochet. Classes do cost money. Generally speaking, they’re not too expensive, but most are definitely not free.
WikiHow is one of the most popular tutorial sites on the Internet. The tutorials aren’t necessarily in-depth and some of them rely on some questionable information. However, the arts and crafts stuff is mostly accurate. You can find all kinds of stuff there, like making your own plaster or how to crochet and tons of other stuff. The app makes finding that stuff much easier. It’s not great for overly complicated tasks, but it covers the basics well enough to recommend it to people.
YouTube

YouTube is a fairly obvious choice when it comes to craft apps. There are a metric ton of YouTubers out there with tutorials on basically anything. You can learn new skills, find fun arts and crafts activities, and there are plenty of tutorials on how to do stuff. The only semi-difficult part is finding the videos. Thankfully, YouTube has playlists and subscription features. That way you can save the videos once you find them. There is an optional subscription for YouTube Premium. It removes ads, allows background play, and adds a few additional features. It’s not a bad deal, honestly.

One of the best resources for crafts, ideas, and stuff like that is your favorite local or online crafts store. Joann Fabric, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Etsy, and plenty of other stores have tons of basic materials, crafting ideas, and communities for arts and crafts. Plus, the apps usually offer things like coupons, online sales, and other conveniences to make the whole process easier. Most arts and crafts fans know these stores and should probably have at least one of these apps as well.
Of course, online stores like Amazon also work for finding crafting stuff. However, the above stores have physical locations where you can brainstorm in person and many, like Joann Fabric, have classes and such that you can take to teach you crafting stuff. Plus, the store-specific deals can help you make decisions on what to buy as well.
